Bird photos from the Hebrides
Photographed in the Sound of Harris, I've never seen a Black Guillemot look quite like the bird on the right.
Bonxie
Black-throated Divers.
Greenshank in breeding plumage.
Redshank
Red-throated Diver.
Great Northern Diver. We saw several during the holiday, some in summer plumage. This bird was at Northton on Harris.
Rock Dove. Pure Rock Doves are difficult to find these days, but this one on Mingulay must be a good candidate.
We saw several flocks of Manx Shearwaters sitting on the water from the Oban to Barra ferry.
Hebridean Starling.
Turnstone in summer plumage.
White-tailed Eagle, Loch Na Keal, Mull.
