Langdale Circular, Lake District

Dipper 1 Elterwater
Siskin 150 Elterwater
Goosander 3 (2mm, f) Little Langdale Tarn
Goldeneye 1 f Blea Tarn
Raven 3 Elterwater
Great Spotted Woodpecker 3 inc. 1 drumming Elterwater.

At first I was quite surprised to see the Dipper on such a small stream and on such a steep gradient, but I suppose the larger and perhaps more suitable streams down below are so swollen at the moment that these higher streams are probably its best bet.

I love this photo. It was raining and the Dipper was in quite a dark location, and this photo is taken at 24x optical zoom. Because of all of this it was on a very low f/stop, making the water looks amazing, almost like molten silver flowing over the rocks! I like it anyhow...
