Eccleston Mere
Lesser Redpoll 30 Siskin 15 Goldfinch 50 Goldeneye 1 female Tufted Duck 7 Great crested Grebe 9 It was a lovely, bright and relatively mild start to the day at Eccleston Mere. Several Robins and a couple of Wrens were singing, and even a distant Mistle Thrush joined in with the festive chorus. Very much a feeling of early spring in the air, though perhaps we better not get too carried away just yet! The finch flock is a great sight at the moment, in the alders by the stream.
